イスラムファシズム（英語: Islamic fascism、イスラム的結束主義）またはイスラモファシズム（英語: Islamofascism、アラビア語: فاشية إسلامية）は、辞書の定義では「闘争的なイスラム主義者の政治的イデオロギーであり、民主主義に対する迫害・敵意の代理者と見なされている」とある[1]。他の定義では「権威主義的、不寛容、過激主義的であると認識されているイスラム形式の支援運動・実践」であり、特にイスラム原理主義がこの語で認識されている[2]。関連語・類義語はナチスラームなど。
この用語の使用者は、ある種のイスラム運動のイデオロギー的性質と、20世紀初頭の広範なヨーロッパ的ファシズム・ネオファシズム・全体主義との類似を指摘している[3][4]。
用語[編集]
「イスラムファシズム」の語は新オクスフォード米語辞典では「現代のいくつかのイスラーム主義運動を、20世紀初頭のファシスト運動と同一視する、議論のある用語」と定義されている[5]。この語は、アメリカ合衆国のジャーナリストのStephen Schwartz[6] やクリストファー・ヒッチェンズ[7] が、アルカーイダなどのテロリスト集団を含めたイスラーム過激派を記述する際に使用した。
この語の起源ははっきりしない。ウィリアム・サファイアは、1990年のMalise Ruthvenがインデペンデントに書いたのものが最初と記した[8]。
ファシズムとの類似点とされるもの[編集]
「イスラムファシズム」の語の提案者は、ファシズムとイスラムファシズムにはいくつかの類似点があると論じている[9]。クリストファー・ヒッチェンズは類似点を以下のように主張している。
最も明確な類似点は、死や破壊の賛美、生命の軽視などの殺人者の暴力の狂信を、両方の運動が基礎にしている事である。（「知性への死！長い生命の死！」とは、フランシスコ・フランコの仲間のGonzalo Queipo de Llano(es)の言葉である。）どちらも近代を敵視し（兵器を購入する時を除く）、どちらも過去の帝国や失われた栄光をひどく懐かしむ。どちらも真実および想像上の「屈辱」にとりつかれ、復讐を熱望する。どちらも反ユダヤの偏執症の毒素に慢性的に感染している（興味深いことに、更に反フリーメイソンの偏執症とも軽度の親戚である）。どちらも指導者崇拝や、一冊の偉大な本の力への排他的な圧力の傾向がある。どちらも性的な抑圧、特に性的なあらゆる「逸脱」の抑圧に強い誓約を持ち、配偶者は女性を従属させ、女性的なものを蔑視する。どちらも芸術や文学を退化や退廃として軽蔑し、どちらも焚書や、博物館や文化財の破壊を行う。 — Christopher Hitchens [7]
批判[編集]
「イスラムファシズム」の語は、いくつかの学者やジャーナリストから批判されている[10]。歴史学者のニーアル・ファーガソンや、国際関係学者のAngelo Codevillaは、歴史的に不正確で単純とみなしている[11]。作家のリチャード・アラン・ネルソンは、この用語は通常は、蔑称またはプロパガンダのために使用されていると批判している[12][13]。
